Pennsylvania eliminates asset test for Food Stamps
Good news for Pennsylvanians in need of food stamps (SNAP): The state will eliminate the asset test effective April 27, 2015.
The application process will be easier because families will no longer have to document their savings - and families who do have savings won't be disqualified. Previously, many households were limited to $5,500 in assets, and households with older residents were limited to $9,000 in savings or assets.
