Ceiba promotes the economic development and financial inclusion of Philadelphia’s Latino community through collaborations and advocacy aimed at ensuring their access to quality housing.

Since 2002, Ceiba has:
  • Delivered 23,913 units of housing counseling services
  • Helped 916 people become first time homeowners 
  • Graduated 50 participants from structured savings programs 
  • Prepared 7,664 tax returns resulting in $11,854,046 in refunds & $1,532,800 in saved tax preparation fees
  • Obtained 841 ITIN numbers for immigrants
  • Opened 368 bank accounts
  • Organized 736 workshops 
  • Enrolled 274 people in affordable health insurance
  • Received Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations Human Rights Award
  • Pioneered the integration of various asset building programs with housing counseling in Philadelphia's Latino community
  • Delivered presentation at National Community Tax Coalition conference in Chicago - ITINs as a tool to promote economic development in immigrant communities
  • Ceiba's use of free tax return preparation for unauthorized immigrants as a gateway to asset building was recognized in December 2015 as one of the top three Best Anti-Poverty Solutions at a forum hosted by the Philadelphia Social Innovations Lab and its literary counterpart, the Philadelphia Social Innovations Journal
